The primary purpose of a bail bondsmen is to assist in bonding an individual out of jail.  A bail bondsmen is usually only needed the moment a particular individual is arrested and taken into custody.  On the other hand, an attorney’s primary purpose is to counsel and assist anyone that may be investigated for or charged with a crime.  Furthermore, an attorney can help counsel a particular individual before, during and after that individual is arrested.  Thus, it is extremely wise for any individual that could be, or has been charged with a crime, to immediately consult with an attorney.
